UX / Visual Designer

Independently designing and implementing the UI/UX design for the Foundation's official website from scratch, which includes visual layout, information architecture, content migration, etc. 

 

Collaborating closely with the company director to iterate website interfaces and update content based on feedback received from the director and other colleagues. 

 

Creating promotional materials that align with the company's branding messages, such as brand VI, merchandise, books, etc., to provide people with convenient access to information and understanding about the Foundation.

SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT 

Winner of the annual Hack Dibner competition -2021,  NYU - UX Designer           

Collaborated with teammates to successfully redesign the UX of the school library study room application system.

 

Streamlined the process and maximized study room utilization, creating an optimized experience for students.

Accessibility & UX/UI Designer: NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Eclipse Soundscapes - a Citizen Science Project supported by NASA), February 2022 - April 2022

Integrated website section for promoting and recruiting citizen science projects through close collaboration with team members and clients.

 

Provided redesign recommendations based on WCAG guidelines, enhancing citizen scientists' promotion, and hiring experience through innovative design and prototyping.

 

Revamped website and improved accessibility for visually impaired individuals by leveraging and enhancing existing design systems.

DESIGN WORKS 

Of Time and The City (immersive experience exhibition )

December 2020 – January 2021 

Collect relevant sounds from the city of Shanghai on a 24-hour timeline.      

 

Create an immersive space by projecting sound and video.

Sphere Falling (immersive experience exhibition) 

November 2019 – December 2020

Researched on climate change and its relationship with human activities.
Made a questionnaire and surveyed over 130 people.
Concluded that many people lack the awareness of environmental protection.
Designed an immersive experience exhibition (3 rooms) that allows people to walk through and interact.
Integrated a decision simulation with three parties of citizens, factory owners, and government to discuss how the different levels of social involvements affect the environment.  
The goal of the project is to allow visitors develop empathy towards environment protection, to understand their behaviors and decisions in the consumption of food and clothes can affect sea level changes. 

Humantion (video and presentation) 

September 2020 – October 2020 

Created a forethought of information circulation model for a better design of privacy sharing system.
Conducted research on information & data leak and how it would be used.
Visualized through a video of a person living in such a privacy sharing system and how the system collects information in different situations.
Presented the future society’s information sharing mode.
The goal of the project is to explore the boundary between technology and privacy and tackled the problem of privacy disclosure both consciously and unconsciously in daily routines 

X-sense (wearable devices and Real-time visualization screen) 

August 2020 – September 2020 

Analyzed the current major natural disasters like hurricanes, viruses, and earthquakes that will bring huge damage to humans, concluding that people still under great potential risks of the disasters.
Studied animals’ reactions to disasters like elephants and frogs, discovering that some animals have better perception capabilities than humans.
Predicted the future disaster detection system, including the general detecting equipments and message reminding device so that people can know the disaster happening faster and easier. Designed a wearable device that releases different signals according to the environment safety level; whenever there is a severe disaster, the device will shrink to specific air pressure parameters and provide a sense of pressure to human skins.
Provided an alternate design that injected the biosensor into human skin to monitor and diagnose people’s real-time health condition through data analysis 

Colorful Bridge (interactive game set) 

November 2019 – December 2019 

Analyzed visually impaired children’s cognitive ability, social recognition, and communication skills.
Researched how family and friends interaction affected visually impaired children and develop their confidence level.  
Designed a game that involves tactile puzzle blocks, miniature piano keyboards, and audio feedback for visually impaired children.
Established a server for online interactions.
The game aims to encourage visually impaired children in social interaction and communication through puzzle making and music creation; the feedback system allows children to receive recognition from online interactions.
